Noni has been used by the Polynesian people throughout the South Pacific for over 2000 years for numerous health concerns.

THE NONI STORY

Common belief holds that thousands of years ago, the islands of French Polynesia were inhabited by natives from Southeast Asia. These people brought only their most prized possessions, including canoe plants that were valued for their health-giving properties. Noni was the queen of those plants and was used in all health preparations and as the central therapeutic element in their civilization. The noni flourished in the rich fertile soils of French Polynesia. . . . "nature's perfect garden".

Noni was also known and used in many parts of the world by traditional native healers, including the Philippines, India and some Caribbean islands.

Traditional Polynesian healers used all parts of the noni plant including the fruit, leaves, bark, roots and seeds. The benefits and uses of this miraculous fruit are documented throughout history in native Tahitian manuscripts.

Although the noni plant has been used for millennia, it wasn't until late in the twentieth century that it attracted the attention of scientific groups worldwide. Led by botanists, biochemists and health researchers, these groups were eager to discover the secrets of the fruit's health-giving properties. Until the northern summer of 1996, the general market knew nothing about noni.

The company Morinda takes it's name from morinda citrifolia, the botanical name for noni, a tree whose roots grow deep in the rich volcanic soil of French Polynesia.
